Who is Counselling for?

question mark

It might seem a little too simplistic to say that counselling is for everyone, but there are few people who would not find some benefit in spending at least a little time with a professional therapist. It can be too easy to look at one's own life in comparison to others and decide that my problems are nothing when placed against theirs. But each person is unique. Events affect each one of us differently, and therefore the greatest indicator that you ought to see a counsellor is the fact that you feel that maybe you should.

The key consideration when deciding whether to sign up for counselling sessions is whether the potential client feels able to be open and to follow the evidence unearthed in discussions with the counsellor - wherever it may lead. Therapy can often prove challenging but ultimately should allow the client to better understand themselves in order to find a well-placed sense of peace and confidence.
